Solubility: slightly soluble in ethanol, octanol, insoluble in ether. Its aqueous solution is alkaline.

Mainly used in the production of formic acid, oxalic acid and insurance powder, etc., also used in printing and dyeing, leather industry, oilfield drilling fluid, snow melting agent.
